Ship Loading & Stockpiling System, NT

Major economic benefits delivered on time and on budget within 10 months

SKALA was engaged to design, supply, install and commission a multipurpose ship loading and stockpiling system. Key aspects of the project included the logistical constraints of assembling large ship loading equipment on the mainland in Darwin then barging to Tiwi Islands, and the need to allow for tidal changes with a floating wharf whilst being able to perform a stockpiling function when not ship loading.

This was the first indigenously owned export program in Australia, contributing major economic benefit to the Tiwi Island communities and delivered on time and on budget within 10 months.
